What Is Left

What Is Left

A Poem by bryanie

Fall not into despair, my love

From brokenness we can only move on

These chains that bind, this cold that freezes

Is my light not enough to lead you away?

Rip out my wings and take them to fly

Close your eyes and listen to my song

Come back under the safety of our woods

The stars above are my gift to you

Take from me all of my strength

Love, do not seek solitude

The rain cannot end until you allow it

Would you let the oceans overflow?

If the trees are to fade away, let them

We will dance our last in the twilight

With only us and the birds overhead

Until night comes forever

When the rain ceases to fall on us

And the stars finally go out above

Sleep on my bed of feathers, love

Tonight we shall become ghosts
