Beauty and the Beast: Chapter 2A Poem by SarahAnd on...So Belle traveled through the cold Thinking of the way things were Wanting to keep her family safe Though her sisters didn’t care about her Arrived at the Beast’s castle The interior empty and dark And then, through the inky gloom Lit a single spark The light was a candelabra And she found that it could walk And as it bid her a warm welcome Seems that it could also talk She found that there was more A teapot and a clock Strangeness, and how they were kind Brought her out of shock However, every night she’s there She had dreams that were stranger It was of a handsome prince And she believed he was in danger In the few months that followed The Beast tried hard to be kind But no matter what he could’ve said She couldn't put the prince from her mind Now, if you remember Beauty loved great adventure She believed the prince was held captive And though the castle she would venture And I suppose this is inevitable But there was a time one day Where she came upon a magical rose That seemed to be fading away The Beast, seeing where she was Told her to never go there For the rose is his secret and curse Of which Belle was unaware But life in the castle grew better As the Beast showed Belle his books A whole library, tall and grand And Belle was free to look But you must remember that her father Cared about Belle very much Belle was contented and happy But her father didn’t know such The inventor always thought that Belle Was being held in captivity He pled with Gaston to go save her And he replied with insensitivity But then Gaston, being cruel Stated one demand That should he go and save Belle Her father would give him her hand But her father, wanting her safety Agreed, though was wary And so Gaston began to devise his plan With Belle at the end to marry © 2020 Sarah
