Useless Apology

Useless Apology

A Poem by Dawn
"

This is about someone who hurt me. Not only did she hurt me but also my mother who is handicapped. For 13 years I dealt with her physical and mental abuse. But through those years I protected my mom.

"
Just because you say sorry doesn't change the past
does saying sorry take away the scars that remain?
Sorry doesn't take away all the pain that will always last
you took away the childhood i tried so hard to attain
because of you me and my mom live in fear
do you really think that your apology changes my outlook on you
i grew up watching you beat my mom but did not shed a tear
I took the pain that you caused because my mother was hurting too
you are the cause of my anger and depression
your apology was useless there was no point
to me it made no impression

Just saying sorry can never truly make up for anything, only actions can over a long period of time. You definitely display how upset he has made you. Maybe you could continue with this poem and offer a resolution in the end, or possibly just the opposite and show that there can be no resolution or amends. Overall a really great read.

Love this poem so hurtfully real, the apology never does it for me mostly it doesn't when a person done it over and over. Just know that you forgive the person more for YOU then them, so YOU can heal. Forgive because the Lord told us to but you never have to forget and give the person a chance to hurt you again.

Sorry sometimes can never be enough, but with love and patience and a caring heart can make up for what is not enough. I'm sorry for what you have been through, but as the world goes on, look to the future with a bright smile. Even when the past is in surface of mind, know that it has been done, cannot change, but your future can. You can mold it to be better than that of the past. Hold strong. You are never alone, and I know deep beneath the memories of anguish is a soul full of unique prosperity. I'm here. We all are. Let your sorry be said, but let your love be said louder. *Hugs*

Sorry doesn't take away all the pain
Sorry is so commonly used that it’s lost all its meaning
It has become an empty meaningless word
That will take care of the problem but will never
Heal the scars nor whipped the pain away left in the depths of the heart
So sad that many think that by saying sorry will make amends
Excellent poem and message within
Hugss :)
