I Think Of You

I Think Of You

A Poem by Dawn McKinney
"

A piece I wrote back in 2000

"
At night I lay my head down on the pillow
I look at the bright moon outside my window
I say a prayer for all the reasons I feel blue
And then I close my eyes and I think of you
As soon as I think of all you've done a smile appears on my face
And my hopelessness and fears leave without a trace
I wonder who could have so much power to change my views
And then I close my eyes and I think of you
A day without you is like a boat without a stream
You are everything to me, you are like a dream
I think of who made this happiness true
And then I close my eyes and I think of you
The days we spend together, the nights we are apart
I will always keep you close to my heart
And if ever a day you decide to say goodbye
Even if you have no reason why
I'll never forget that you were a dream come true
I will continue to close my eyes and think of you
But I hope we will last for eternity
Because I know you and I were meant to be
And when I feel that a smile on my face is due
That's when I'll close my eyes and think of you
