Wedding dayA Poem by dawn13XDi wanted to do something similar to a poem our teacher showed us....Wedding Day Weave me a winter white gown Adorned with old, dull pearls, and stitched with a puppeteer’s thread.
Fix my disheveled black hair for I cannot bear to look in the mirror.
Patch up my face with the finest
powder and make-up,
Highlight my eyes with gray
mascara, Reflected in them is my soul, Now, on the floor as scattered shards it lies.
Place the ring that was soaked in
blood and tears
Make sure the veil covers my eyes
and ears To drown out those piercing voices; Hysteria comes from their symphony unending.
The wheels of fate had already turned, the moment I was conceived in the womb. Now, I must carry out their verdict until the day I rest in my tomb.
No longer will I be free as a dove; Never will I reach the sky. Chains of tradition constrict my wings, leaving me on the ground unable to fly.
.Like the flower under the tree, in its shade and earthly comfort it may wallow But then I will rarely see the sun; My only worth is standing in your shadow
Perhaps, if Romeo and Juliet were not just a play then I would accept their judgment. But even God did not bless love on this wretched engagement.
Line up the aisle with withered
flowers. they fall on the crimson carpet.
Also, I’d rather walk barefoot. with each step, the glass slippers scar my feet. At least, as I walk down this path, let my pride mask my grief.
Play not merry music to delight the crowd but a ballad of my bravado. or Mozart’s requiem that matches better my inner melody and echoes.
Lastly, remind me to smile,
