Towels

Towels

A Story by Brandy Adams
"

Short story I wrote based off of a writing prompt from tumblr

"
"How many towels do you need?" Lily asked as she watched her mother frantically stuff towels into a suitcase.
"Twenty" her mother answered.
"Why do you need twenty towels?"
"Because"
Lily sighed. She stood up, walked into the hallway and closed the door.
"Is everything alright?" came a voice.
Lily turned and saw the nurse.
"Everything's fine" she replied "She's packing towels"
"Don't worry. All of the locks are secure. She won't get out"
"I know, I just, I just wish-"
"I understand, Why don't you go home and get some rest. It's been a long day and don't worry, we will take good care of her"
"Okay"
Lily glanced back at the door to her mother's room. she turned around, wiped the tears from her eyes, and left.
