if [What would you do?]

if [What would you do?]

A Poem by Diary of A Man™

If I wrote you a letter,
Would you read it?
If you saw me now
Would you know me; would you still need me
Would you say hello
...would you walk right past me;
Ignore the woes in my walk...

If I wrote you a poem, even if it didn't rhyme,
Would you read it;
Would you accept the prose in my sentiment
Would it still touch your heart and make it skip a beat...
Would you throw my paper on the ground,
Reject my total sentiment;
Reject my whole being at the drop of a dime
Would you crumple it and toss me aside
Laugh and mock me because we don't see eye to eye
What would you do to my sentiment--the pouring out of my heart..
Would you begin to cry,
...See right through me
Hug me, hold me, console me...
Would this tie us together,
Seam for seam
What would you do
If letter by letter, I sewed and weaved together this soul of a man with yours?

Beautifully written! I especially like the lines of closure in the final statement (If letter by letter, I sewed and weaved together this soul of a man with yours?) I would read it and enjoy it...and I did! ~Sharon
