Looking Glass

Looking Glass

A Poem by Amber

Looking in the mirror
I see
The person I once was,
That woman, I long to be.

Your arms, wrapped around my waist,
Holding me close.
Who have I become?
A stranger, in my own eyes
And hidden deep inside,
She waits,
Afraid.

Through the looking glass
On the other side
There She is…
She’s trapped.
Stuck in a place she can’t escape.

From Wonderland
She ran away
But doesn’t know why.
She couldn’t hold on,
Her grip on reality, lost.

Wake up,
Wake up.

It’s all a bad dream.
You’re right here beside me,
To chase the nightmares away
And bring me back where I belong.

As soon as I saw looking glass I knew there would be an Alice reference. I am a big fan though so I am all about it.

I really like this one. Really loved the change from "I" to "she"...makes the reader feel all the emotions. Great writing!

this is lovely, the Alice in Wonderland elements add such a wonderful bit of nostalgia to it. I really like that it was dedicated to your best friend, it is so sweet.

Love the Alice reference, and the ominous but melancholy tone. I like the versing in here as well, seems to fit correctly. = ] Love the dedication too. Super cute.

I love this...VERY cool title and concept, using the Alice in Wonderland idea to illustrate how she feels trapped in that place, and all she needs to do is wake up...very beautiful that love is drawing her back to herself...because she is safe now. Well done!
