When will spring come?

When will spring come?

A Poem by davidwrites

Winter's chill won't yield, relentless
Darker days, damper souls, friendless
Rare bright moments, sun's quick tease
Frozen hopes as harsh winds wheeze

February's promise unkept
Snow still thick where cold air crept
March rains soak through weary coats
Spring's arrival? No verdict notes

April teases with warmth's first blush
Then retreats behind rain's cold rush
May dawns, but cold lingers, cruel
When will spring's soft breezes rule?

Bleak winter's monotone façade
Yearns for spring's colorful charade
Life reborn, vibrant rebirth
To replace winter's icy dearth

it seems like everything in nature comes alive in April, May, after winter winds have calmed...but with intermittent cold spells, where we worry about our gardens... you portray these months very vividly in your write...it seems we all have a new beginning in spring.....it is enlightening!
Warmly, B

Spring is retreating in these parts. Two warm days and now we have blustery winds and chill. I can relate to your poem. The season of rebirth is teasing us this year. I enjoyed reading your lines.
