Lost Religion, Found God: The Seeker's Journey

Lost Religion, Found God: The Seeker's Journey

A Poem by davidwrites

Shackles of creed, traditions decreed,
Weighed down my soul with dogma's greed.
Rituals and rules, a gilded cage,
Failed to unveil truth's sacred page.

Hypocrisy reigned in hallowed halls,
Erecting fortresses of towering walls.
Religion's garb, a masquerade,
Concealed the divine light's true shade.

Yet deep within, a spark still burned,
For the Eternal, my heart yearned.
God's essence pure, beyond man's rites,
Beckoned me forth to greater heights.

So I turned my back on the village path,
Escaping the shackles of rigid wrath.
With only faith as my guiding star,
I ventured forth, journeying far.

Through deserts vast and mountain peaks,
My soul its sustenance seeks.
In nature's grandeur, God's love unfurls,
Unveiling truths the dogma furls.

Each step, a prayer, each breath, a hymn,
Drawing me closer to the Divine gem.
No creed, no rules, just heart's pure essence,
Guiding me home, to Love's presence.

I think your quest will in the end show you the Truth was within you all the while.
