An Unexpected Surprise

An Unexpected Surprise

A Poem by D. Pesek

I once met a woman at a bar.

She had looks that were far above par.

A possible soul mate?

Oh I thought she was great.

Til I found out she lived in her car.

haha, is this supposed to be a limerick, my friend?

It's quick, short, to-the-point, and a tad humorous....

though, it does get me wondering: why is this woman judged on her socioeconomic class situation (b/c she obviously is, since she is dismissed (even though first judged by her beauty) b/c the speaker finds out she "lives in her car", thus alluding to a "poor" person) ?

It's an interesting lil piece of social commentary...and *insight*, if you will, into this particular speaker.

Thanks for sharing :)
