Fairy Dreams

Fairy Dreams

A Poem by David P. Eckert
"

Things we've lost along the way

"

Fairy Dreams

We can lose

Things we’ve never had

And never could,

Like morning mist

When faced with a summer day.

Dreams and sacred fantasies

That fuel us

When demon work days

Burn the last vapors

From our souls

Wishes to haunt

And sing sweet tunes to us

When unrequited family life

Turns gray matter mush

We scream and scream “Enough!”

Letting go of fairy dreams

May just implode our normalcy

Force us to live untenably

In bleak lives we’ve come to know

And wish we could let go.

(i wish i was quite that happy to get the pleasure of the second review), I liked this, even though i am heavily intent on putting the british spelling of faerie into american vocabularies, either way, the litterance of it makes you almost have a half smile of relief even though noone really has the green card to get out of their daily rituals (often even the weekends lack that ability). Some better adjectives perhaps, but by no means uncolorful.

Yay! First person to get to review. I loved this. I see that you are coming out of your shell and really letting yourself go. Did you just write this or was it a while ago? Seems like this is something you wrote a while back because the David I have got to know has pizzazzz. Over worked and not enough sleep... but you are definately not bland!!! Hope your wife loved the flowers!
