Such

Such

A Poem by David P. Eckert
"

Don't ask me what I was thinking. I don't remember.

"

Such

Such seems one

of those old

contractions

as in so much,

as in such a good time,

that has made it,

made its own way

into the English

speaking world,

able to stand on

its own,

a monument

to shortcuts

that stand tall,

testimony

to our belief

in change,

even if it’s

shrinking

our ink use

by two

little

letters,

but that’s just

so much

fantasy.

This piece flowed like your other. To me however, this seems to be forced. Like you tried to hard. Maybe you didn't but that is what I see in this. Has a nice beginning and ending. Light and witty. Stretching out the format was a good idea playing with words. However, when beginning a new line the first letter is capped. There is an area, I don't know if you noticed but "It has made it" next line "Made it on its own" Using the word made twice, explaining in the next line of what "made it" is interesting. Then you go to "Belief and Change" then the last and final, Fantasy. You have a lot of ideas in one short little poem, twisting and turning the meaning and thought.
