Compassion

Compassion

A Poem by David Kwaku

Invoke the remedy of my verse,
which causes the ink to reform the lines of my words.
A deluge of sweet perfume as your chariot passes by,
the fragrance of your heart alchemy.
Assist me through the moons delight,
kiss my lips, bring to me my soul as my pale skin finds life.
Every night my eyes close and wonder into darkness,
my mind assemble memories into dreams.
Awake me from my slumber,
how I miss the reality of your name.
The essence it brings,
which sprouts from a mustard seed into a tree of fruitful compassion.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I love the emotion, the breathlessness, the plea, of your short poems. They are wonderful. Keep sharing with us!

You have the soul and touch of a poet. It's very evident here, and I'm humbled by it.

That's the essence of poetry !! It has so much pathos, it's so superbly written, honestly after reading this I started thinking my poems're not worth to be called that way xD
Great job !

What an enchanting poem this is! Quite entrancing, your words drank me into the rhythm of the stanzas. I love it all. Perhaps my favourite lines, however are "Invoke the remedy..." and "A deluge of sweet perfume...".

Excellently done!

Very well written poem. Good job. This was my favorite line "the fragrance of your heart alchemy." like you were casting a magical spell over the heart. Good job

Those moments deep in slumber when we long to feel connected to that person again. When the movie flashes and we wake wishing it was real. This poem is beautiful with yearning and a need that may never take place.

A slightly spicy piece that relates to guarded medium.
