Midnight

Midnight

A Chapter by Not here

You call me out to something I have never known.
The waves are crashing down and I can't help but moan.
I hate the darkness near me and under my skin.
I want to feel so clean but I can't let you in.

You tell me just to trust you and to take your hand.
Moonlight glistens softly all across the sand.
I shake my head. With tears, I turn away.
I promise you I'll try again a different day.

Both of us, we know that it's a lie.
There won't be another day, or another try.
Both of us, we can't help but smile.
It's such a beautiful night. If only we had a while
more.

Sometimes, all we have is lies.
"Both of us, we know that it's a lie.
There won't be another day, or another try.
Both of us, we can't help but smile.
It's such a beautiful night. If only we had a while
more."
The above lines, real life and lessons learn. Thank you Dante for sharing the amazing poetry.

I ike this, I think that you painted a beautiful landscape for a setting of the story you are telling. I found it moving.

I love it as this piece of intriguing
emotions shared between close
people
the sense of place is lovely, too;
nice work!
