An Ode to the Hard Days

Maybe someone will hear me this time,

or maybe the chance will slip away.

Darkness pressing in

before the day will begin.

We sit in bed together,

but alone.

Maybe we're at the end,

maybe we won't be friends

and we've forgotten everything

we've know.

If this is the last

and all time has passed

I guess I'll have to find a way

to say

everything that I feel,

everything that was real,

and maybe you can hear my words

today.

It's been a rough week

after our peak,

and now we regret

everything.

But I see your hand,

all that we had planned,

and your beautiful

diamond ring.

It's hard to forget,

it's hard not to get

so emotional and start

to doubt

everything I've known.

You were my home

and now all I can do is

shout.

Maybe someone will hear me this,

or maybe our day will fade to gray.

Oh, baby, I really need you this time.

Baby, I really need to stay,

so please don't go away.

Leaving you behind

would be leaving behind my mind,

walking so blind,

completely confined.

We are so free

when it's you and me,

conquer and see

what we can be.

Now it's all gone,

we can't carry on.

Forget all the pawns,

it's a new dawn.

We've both made mistakes

that we're still makin'.

Every single day,

always mistaken.

Both of us are;

we've lowered the bar

but can't reach that high

so you say goodbye.

I am so lost

without you, my home,

my only, my one,

and all I have known.

You know what I am,

what we used to be,

so I will cry out

and then we will see

and I won't be the only one who stays.

and maybe it all just slipped away.

I dont know of this was way too much emotional pain slippen and not wanting that to show......you force feed it to stay in ....if it was the no feeling n you were forcing sumthing to seem real whatever the case your works always expressed in great detail and I alwaysure admire your poems... heal the passion in your own way ....love it
