Meaningless Importance

Meaningless Importance

A Poem by Not here

Whatever I was looking for,
I found it on the bathroom floor.
Sitting back against the door,
I thought I knew but wasn't sure.

I think we all believed a lie.
It was so good. How did it die?
No matter how hard we may try,
we'll not bring back the lullaby.

Only some will see
and only time will tell
where your coin landed down
in my wishing well.

Three weeks can pass and no one know
the extremes to which we will go.
Our heads were big and so aglow,
although we'd always fall below.

When all we had has flown away,
I'll sit against the door all day.
For inspiration, I will pray,
through silent words no one can say.

Only time will see
and only memories tell
where you lost your footing
down in my wishing well.

Your body rises to the top,
floating against a gray backdrop.
As I fall, I too will drop,
knowing that I can never                 stop.

I liked this. In reading some of the other reviews I agree with the great rhyming. I also like your comment "not everything i write make sense to other people" because that is the kind of poetry I like. Why? Because what I meant as the writer is about my perspective of something I am feeling. The reader might not know exactly what I am talking about; however, the important part is the the reader gets something out of the writing that excites them or makes them think about something in their life.

Well done

i agree andrew. thank you for your review :)
Great rhyming here Dante. I was rather curious wondering what you were doing behind the bathroom door... I'm not 100% sure that I got the meaning behind this one because if it isn't abundantly clear my mind tends to go on wild rampages and ends up way off the mark. However this was a well written poem, rhyme, rhythm, length, language etc. Great! :)
