Meaningless ImportanceA Poem by Not here
Whatever I was looking for,
I found it on the bathroom floor. Sitting back against the door, I thought I knew but wasn't sure. I think we all believed a lie. It was so good. How did it die? No matter how hard we may try, we'll not bring back the lullaby. Only some will see and only time will tell where your coin landed down in my wishing well. Three weeks can pass and no one know the extremes to which we will go. Our heads were big and so aglow, although we'd always fall below. When all we had has flown away, I'll sit against the door all day. For inspiration, I will pray, through silent words no one can say. Only time will see and only memories tell where you lost your footing down in my wishing well. Your body rises to the top, floating against a gray backdrop. As I fall, I too will drop, knowing that I can never stop.
