Come and See

Come and See

A Poem by Not here

Do you ever think that maybe nobody listens to you?
Do you ever think they'll hate you- doesn't matter what you do?
Do you ever think that everything they say just isn't true?
Do you ever think they only focus anger on you, too?

Do you ever wonder maybe that nobody's on your side?
Do you ever wonder if someone would miss you if you died?
Do you ever want somebody so badly you simply cried?
Do you ever wish somebody would just take you back inside?

Maybe I'm a joker.
Maybe this smoke.
Maybe I'm a liar
and this is only my first joke.

Maybe I'm a house
and you're my friendly lighter.
'Cause the world isn't meant
for the silent, passive fighters.

Maybe I'm just laughing.
Can you hold my hand?
'Cause we are now walking
to a tortured, silent land.

Come and talk.
Talk again.
I am where I've always been.

In a box.
Down the hall.
While they torture and they call.

Come and balk.
Balk again.
I am where I've always been.

In a ball,
down the hall,
in a box
with the pox
of my mind
as they bind
me in two,
me in three,
and watch you,
so come and see.

My friend. Alive and wild poetry and thoughts.
"Come and balk.
Balk again.
I am where I've always been."
Old age had taught me. I don't want attention. Some people need attention. Naysayers like to be in the front. The lines above I liked. Baseball in poetry. I like it. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome my friend.
OMG I have missed reading your amazing poems David. And now I know why. You just get better and better every time. But I do agree with forevermore the end was a bit confusing. But this is amazing nonetheless and I truly enjoyed reading it and I see there's more poems for me to read that you have added recently. :)

I liked it all except the last stanza, I thought some of the words didn't make sense but I may just not be getting it. I really liked all of the meaning in it well done!
