The Wanderer

The Wanderer

A Poem by Not here

When the words won't come anymore
and the days pass slowly by
and I pound against the door
as I start to kill my mind...

When the hour arises still
and I see all of the needs,
and I start to lose my will
as I look at all my deeds...

When I'm lost and hopeless, too
and my brain begins to crack,
and my heart is bleeding through
the shirt stuck on my back...

If I lose all of my power
and the words will never come,
and I spend all my hour
wading through all the scum...

If I find the place of silence
where words cannot pretend
to comfort all my violence...
Will you ever let me in?

'Cause I wander frozen wastelands
of my broken, desert mind.
And I find many misplaced plans
and I wish I could go blind.

'Cause the world is only broken.
And the silence makes me ponder.
So many thoughts unspoken,
as in the dark I wander.

Author's Note

Not here
It took me quite a while and a lot of work to write this. Writers block, I guess. Sorry if I haven't been updating or posting or reviewing as much lately. Stuff's happening that takes up a whole bunch of my time, and it's harder to write poems and such than it used to be.
