Nightmare

Nightmare

A Poem by Not here

It's a nightmare, a catastrophe,
full of everyone else's blasphemy.
There's no escape, and no way out;
you just to wait for it to play out.
So take a second to just look around
because this is the new home you've found.
Don't you remember back in the day
when everybody lived life in the way
that nowadays seems so un-phased.
We lived and did what we pleased. They
could not affect our display
that we chose to put on. Hey,
we used to be so amazing
until we let them begin fazing
us with their unnatural sayings.
"You're not good enough, you're just playing.
This isn't your thing, start praying
if you want to begin slaying
these giants in your way, weighing
you down again." They're swaying
your opinion right? Betraying
what you believe is dismaying
and will not help at all. Preying
beasts are surveying
you're scared carcass. Perhaps
you already look like scraps
because you're walking into traps
by giving up. If you collapse
I can promise you'll relapse
back and be stuck in the gaps
created by the fall.
I hope you have someone to call
when you begin to crawl
back to the finish line. All
of your hope was given away
when you spent the entire day
alone and without a friend.
This nightmare has no end.
It's a nightmare, a catastrophe,
full of everyone else's blasphemy.
There's no escape, and no way out;
you just to wait for it to play out.
So take a second to just look around
because this is the new home you've found.
It's insane and automatic
shocking through me like some crazy static.
Electricity never felt so alive
even if I won't exactly do what I call thrive.
I'm on a road to a climatic,
fanatic and often dogmatic
finish to my problematic
trail through all this darn traumatic
stress that's beating upon me.
How am I supposed to be free
of this pain, shame, and insane fear
when I can't get over it drawing near
while it continues to quite frankly jeer
at me. This is my richest year
but haunted by this nightmare clear.
If I could just have a hope to escape
then maybe my plans could take shape
but as for me now, I must roam
and hope to find a different home.
It's a nightmare, a catastrophe,
full of everyone else's blasphemy.
There's no escape, and no way out;
you just to wait for it to play out.
So take a second to just look around
because this is the new home you've found.

this blows my mind. Rhyming is perfect. Your repetition insinuates the main point even more. your descriptions are so vivacios and blood. I love it. A cry of help from a nightmare.

thank you very much :)
David this one pretty much blows smoothly all the way through. The only line I would look for a change is in the refrain. You have "you just to wait for it to play out" You either needs to be you're or you need to drop the word "to" so that it reads more smoothly and grammatically correct. overall a good right. Jan

While I despise "Rap" for the most part, I appreciate the words off spoken. Clearly a large amount of "Rap" is poetic in content. I just hate to see great words ruined with bad music. Your words here bring a feel of suffering and the need to get away. Thanks for sharing.

i think this is about finding your place
and how sometimes it's tough when thier's opposition

i really like the wordplay, which you always make fun

the poem ends on a hopeful note by telling us we should persevere, in spite of the conflict, of the dark, and the emptiness

really good poem David

Great rhyming.
I really like this one David, everyone of us has a nightmare, it may be a catastrophe like you put it out.

What sort of new home? everything else fits perfectly. I'm nothing and nobody, nobody living around me gives a s**t about my fucked up life, i give up on everything that i can't solve, and will give up easier after each day, though i've got no intention to start crawling out of it, cause even after i do, i just fall into another shithole again. i'm living in a bloody nightmare, no hope in it at all...so it fits me almost perfectly.
