Emotionless

Looking but not seeing- Listening but not hearing- Knowing but not believing- Touching but not feeling.

Engulfed in emotions,

pierced by pain,

Poisonous potions,

consumed in shame.

Doubled down,

dead to all.

It still astounds

when I fall.

Emotions rage

and tear and claw

throughout my skin

while I fall.

My brain exploding,

not a sound

to warn the world

I am unbound.

I had it all.

And then I fall.

The world was mine;

'twas simply lies.

Emotions, feelings, shame, and hate;

my world crumbling, oh the weight!

My shoulders cannot stand the rate

that I ever crumble and break.

Let me lie here, in this hole.

I dug it for myself, so low.

And I will forever wait

in this so perpetual state:

Emotionless.

Thank you for whoever read this. I appreciate you spending some of your time reading this. I didn't really have anyone to talk to about it so I put it into a poem.

An interesting shift in the rhyming scheme just past the halfway mark of your poem made me stop and think but something tells me that was on purpose. This piece hits home for me deeply, especially stanza five, for I had it all and now have fallen. Thanks for sharing! - FT
