Down By The Sea

Down By The Sea

A Poem by David J. Boozer
"

We live between the mountains and the sea, but it is down by the sea where we love it the most, especially her.

"

The last bend in the road.

Our window is down, you inhale the salty air.

A smile forms, so bright it brakes up to low coastal clouds.

Her favorite spot.

She stares into the blue and gray of the sea.

Her smile still remains.

She watches as her children enjoy what she has for so long.

Life by the sea is for her, you can tell by her eyes.

They have a smile of their own, as deep and blue as the sea itself.

She sits and stares in awe of His creation.

She wonders why she is so blessed with so much.

Then I watch as she smiles again, at us.

She turns back to the waves that crash, back to the sea.

She smiles again.

Simply beautiful, simply peaceful, simply her.

She is down by her sea.

A nice, peaceful offering about contentment and gratitude. In these troubled times, there seems to be a shortage of both.
