Book Two Chapter Sixteen: HomecomingA Chapter by Ryan HendersonEnjoying their victory, Saja and Irene discuss their plans for the future. As a precaution, Saja sends Irene out into the night to gather Kerulen that will be willing to guard them against attack.Chapter Sixteen Homecoming: Unknown Location, Earth. Saja’s Point Of View.
"Irene, we are victorious." Said Saja with glee. "Indeed. Although, I will regret the Chosen One’s death. His fighting spirit could have been used as a powerful tool in the downfall of humanity, it would have made the job a lot quicker, but alas, he refused to surrender. You had no choice but to kill him. His blood was quite delectable." Irene said with a smirk. "Oh, I would be surprised if he is dead. Even though I dealt him a killing blow, Tigiti saved him. He transported him here to Earth. I don’t know why he did it, there is no hope for saving humanity now, and besides, I already tried to recruit him, before, in Ectoclis, he wouldn't join me." Saja told Irene. "What a pity." Irene pouted. "But, we have done it nonetheless. I think it is better this way, making Nick experience the chaos we have brought to his world, and soon, all the rest will suffer the same fate." Irene giggled. A thought then hit Irene. "But Saja, if Nick was somehow to make his way to us, and on the slim chance he defeated us, wouldn't he reverse the effects we have inflicted by simply telling the saviour to do so?" Saja thought about this. "Yes... Yes... How did I not see this? We must destroy the Savior, and the Blade of Faith immediately." Saja said in a panic. With that, Saja took off. She ran to where she had the two relics stored and fetched them. She didn't think that the savior would destroy itself on command, what could she do? "Irene, how would we go about destroying the relics?" She asked. Irene thought for a moment. "Well, I took this from one of the vampire council members. Do you think this will do?" She asked with a knowing smirk, holding up the subspace corruptor. "That might do the trick." Saja said. She held it up to the savior. Nothing happened. "Hmmmm." Saja thought. She turned it over and over. She knew very little about how this ancient relic worked. She knew that the markings on the sides opened portals to the various worlds, she could also turn into anyone she came into contact with and she could hide in the subspace. She turned it over again and found a marking on the very bottom. It was the same elaborate X marking that was on Irene’s cloak. She pressed it and the relic opened up, revealing the interior. It glowed with purple energy. A dark era of energy pulsated around the relic. “Irene, what is the symbol on your cloak?” Saja asked. “It is the symbol for the Order of the Black Reqrium.” Irene stated. Saja grinned, getting an idea of what the Subspace Corruptor might do. Saja held it up to the savior once more. The savior created an era of light energy and defended itself. There was a lot of resistance. After forcing the corruptor to touch it ever so slightly, the savior began to convulse. Saja held the corruptor up to the savior, and forced it harder. A high pitched whine came from the savior, it gradually grew louder in volume. The savor began to swell. Now Saja was able to drive the subspace corruptor into the center of the savior, with this the savior exploded with a loud and extremely low pitched Boom. The explosion let out a shockwave of air and energy that blew everything to the edges of the room. After a close examination, Saja and Irene found that the Blade of Faith was destroyed along with the savior. That was it. All hope of saving humanity was lost. "Saja, I've been thinking." Said Irene. "When Nick tried to save humanity, that was too close." Saja nodded. "Continue." Said Saja, now interested. "We should protect ourselves, for there is no doubt in my mind that Nick will one day come again and claim his destiny as the Chosen One." Irene said. Saja pondered this. "Yes, you are once again correct, but how will we do that?" She asked. "Well, you could make more Kerulen." Said Irene blankly. "There are too many Kerulen, and not enough regular vampires. I’ve seen fighting happen between Kerulen and vampires. The Kerulen are stronger and more powerful and they kill more people than the vampires. The vampires want blood too, but the Kerulen make it hard for them. If I create more Kerulen, the situation could become unstable. As for our protection, could you go and gather the best and most battle skilled Kerulen that you can find?" Asked Saja. "I can do that." Irene agreed. With that Irene went out into the night. © 2015 Ryan HendersonAuthor's Note
