Agni and the Phoenix

Agni and the Phoenix

A Poem by daveyboygreen

Jealous diamonds would steal the sparkle from your eyes

the sun would take it’s rays

back from your golden hair

angels squabble to stroke unblemished skin

The Lord and the Devil

both want your smile

for they are weak at the knees .

Cupid wants your kisses

for his arrow tips

Agni and the Phoenix fight for the fire in your lips

Samson screams for all your strength

your love is hunted

by Juliet

and everybody else.

Your overwhelming charm complete

All that’s left is me.

I want all the things above described

not to steal away

but proudly show

For this is what I know.

This is she.

Interesting way you worked this piece out within the lines... the reader is on a constant watch with the development of the story:

The Lord and the Devil
Cupid wants your kisses
Agni and the Phoenix
by Juliet

Makes this quite a read... and you end the piece saying all of this is her... the person of attraction...
