walking eye worries

walking eye worries

A Poem by daveyboygreen

my eyes went out for a walk

for the day

with complaints in their pockets

dog-eared, pickled in pride

marinated

waiting

and tired.

they were sick

repeatedly screaming

at me

for being on watch

all the time

"let's just suck up the light

by the pool

and let eyelids and eyebrows

recline."

after

several attempts

of tempting them back

cut a deal in the end

now they walk every day

for an hour alone

while I panic and curse being blind.
