You Kept Me for YourselfA Poem by IrwinYou kept me For yourself Like a favourite treat But others Had a claim on me I was a daughter A friend A sister A niece
You Were my friend I trusted you You were older I was only young Unable to see
The truth Of what might be Happening to me It was a game " you said I had to play dead If anyone came knocking At the door looking for me
You were soft Kind Your breathing heavy As your hands Caressed my body I felt relief That someone Loved me I bathed In the adventure
Then they came Not knocking but Hammering till the Door burst in And my adventure Ended.
