Julia

Julia

A Poem by Dave M. Pitman
"

Wrote this for a contest submission.

"

A crest of brown, cascading down
atop a peak of eyes and rosy cheeks
and lips that tell me the name I seek:

Julia

At first an image, potentially forgotten
'til anchored with a touch, brief but impassioned
as we brush our lips in a lustful fashion-
the lips that once said, "Julia."

So now her name follows me throughout my day
like a butterfly on my shoulder
My love to be, My darling light-

Yes, her name is Julia

This poem is a great portrayal of devotion and the unforgettable nature of that "one person". You seem to have a knack in creating imagery and this is no exception. Beautifully crafted and descriptive.

My favourite bit has to be,
"At first an image, potentially forgotten
'til anchored with a touch, brief but impassioned"

Nicely done.

I love the flow of this poem =) Just rolls off the tongue so naturally.
Third line from the bottom, "like a butterly on my shoulder" -- supposed to be butterfly?

Great write =)

Very sweet. Makes the reader wonder who Julia is.

This is sweet! Second line down should be corrected: "atop a peak of eyes and rosy cheeks..." I would love for this to be a little longer about Julia. Good job!
