Nearing Death, Yet But A Season

Nearing Death, Yet But A Season

A Poem by Dave M. Pitman

Nearing death, yet but a season

Age wise arms stretched out towards the ceiling

Planted firmly in it's tradition

A giant flower, a protective charm

Laid still by Winter's scorn

Wonderful and powerful poem. I like it

Such power and great meaning in this short poem. Takes great skill to write a complete poem in 30 words. Winter make us appreciate the birth of new life.

Short but solid. A perfect picture of fall into winter. Very good.

Death like a flower sleeping through the winter, this is an image of hope. I like the image of a man as a flower.

Nice. It's beautiful.

insightful; this expression leads me to see death as something not final...just a transition or perhaps a transformation.
