To Steal a Line From Another

To Steal a Line From Another

A Poem by Dave M. Pitman

And then it was lost
maybe not forever
and not at all for the good
but this must be the cost
of seeing brighter weather
and being happy as we should
and, to steal a line from another,
"good-bye, my almost lover."

Worded perfectly and it has a natural flow. The lines are very touching, simplicity is wonderful. All together as one big piece, heartbreaking.

A little slice of life. Not a very sweet slice, but a real one. My heart still aches and yearns ocassionally for one of those "almost lovers."
