My Silent Companion Dressed in Robes

My Silent Companion Dressed in Robes

A Poem by Dave M. Pitman

My silent companion dressed in robes
follows in my steps down familiar roads;
The sun beats down upon our heads,
warming mine, but hiding his.
For, though light be my friend, it be an enemy of his,
and reveals his secret like sunrise upon the hills.
But still, like night, my companion finds
a home safe to hide ‘til the light subsides.

Interesting... I might have to read through it a few more times.

I feel like I know who it is, just on the tip of my tongue. Is it a religious companion? Anyway, good short poem... length doesn't matter, just what the words say and mean
