Black ✴-Twelfth Chapter-Hunting Season Part 3-The reflection-Beast And Spirit!

Hunting Season venue: Residential Area

Jack and Diara were in a heated battle. After firing her attack;LIGHTNING TECHNIQUE-UNIVERSE FLASH, she was sure of her victory. But soon after came to a shocking realization.

"My attack is dissapearing?"

It shocked her. Unable to understand how this was possible, she screamed at Jack,

"How?!? Tell me how you're doing this! Now!!"

but, Jack just ignored her. He wasn't going to sell out the way his technique worked. To him, only a stupid person would do so.

Though her attack was being absorbed by Jack, it still wasn't easy for him. The amount of power the attack had was pushing him back. It was taking everything he had to keep the mirror from shattering.

Just a bit more.

In a final push, he poured more energy into the mirror, trying to absorb the attack. And�"

"HAAAAH!"

�"with a scream, he had succeeded. Diara was angered. Angered to the point that she clenched her fist until blood came out. Realizing that the mirror was the thing that was causing her attacks to disappear, she thought,

I should attack the mirror. There must be a limit to the amount of attacks it can make disappear.

and she quickly acted upon this decision. In an instant, she used her advantage in speed to move and get behind Jack. The moment she had teleported, Jack knew she was going to hit him from the back, so�"

"ICE CREATION-FROZEN FOTRESS"

�"he created a giant fotress around him. Even though she saw the fotress, Diara did not stop,

"You think this will hold me back?"

�"she covered her entire fist in lightning and, using all the strength she had, she punched the fotress.

BOOM!SHATTER!

It broke. With one punch, she had shattered Jack's defense.

「Diara shows amazing strength and shatters the ice fotress! Is this going to be the turn of the battle? Or is it a useless struggle?」

To the commentator's words, Diara cursed. To her, it seemed like the commentator was disrespecting her, but what he said had meaning to it. From a viewers perspective, it looked like the battle had already been decided the moment Jack brought out the mirror, yet, Diara still continued fighting.

Though she was able to completely shatter Jack's defense in one hit, to the viewers, it looked like a pointless and futile struggle.

With her eyes brimming with anger, she prepared her next attack.

"LIGHTNING TECHNIQUE-ZARA'S WRATH"

At her shout, multiple spears made out of black lightning filled the sky.

"Go!"

Saying so in a sort of evil voice, the spears rained down upon the residential area and�"

"Oh f**k!"

�"destroyed everything. From the buildings to even the park that was there, they all vanished in an instant. Jack, instead of trying to absorb the attack, was dodging by side stepping instead.

Why?

It wouldn't work.

Because there were too many spears, he wouldn't have been able to absorb all. Also, each spear contained a high amount of power, so if he had tried to absorb one, it would have left him wide open for the other spears to hit him.

Damn it! I can't continue dodging like this!

After moving around for a while, Jack realized that he was beginning to lose balance. He also realized that there was too many debris. If he had made one wrong step, he would've fallen over and then a swarm of spears would have hit him.

In an attempt to stop the rain of spears, Jack did something not even Diara expected�"

FREEZE!FREEZE!FREEZE!

�"all the moisture in the air was frozen.

Ah..ah

Diara was at a loss for words. How much of a battle sense did he have that he would have been able to decide to freeze the moisture in the air. She couldn't begin to comprehend it.

By freezing the moisture in the air, the spears were also frozen. Even though they were made out of lightning, Jack's control of ice was

top-notch, allowing him to freeze the tiniest bit of moisture.

Since the spears were frozen, the moment they had hit the ground, they shattered into pieces. Jack smiled at this.

It worked.

However, the smile which he had on his face made Diara extremely infuriated. Unable to cope with the sudden foiling of her attacks, she rushed towards Jack, quickly forming a sword of lightning in her hands.

"I'll kill you!"

She shouted. Surrounding herself with lightning, she instantly sped up, rocketing to Jack. But�"

This is it.

This was the moment he was waiting for. What was that moment? It was the decisive moment that would decide the match.

Quickly approaching Jack,she pointed the blade towards him.

"It's over!"

With the intent to kill, she swung, but, suddenly�"

"Reflect."

"Huh?"

�"at those cold words,a flash of light illuminated the area.

BOOM!BZZ!BZZ!

The commentator,not knowing what caused such an explosion,asked Duran curiously.

「what...what caused such an explosion? Duran?」

He handed Duran the mike.

"I think it was the attacks Diara threw towards Jack earlier."

「what do you mean?」

"The mirror which Jack has in his hand is capable of absorbing, trapping and releasing opponents attacks. Earlier, he had absorbed her HEAVEN SHATTERING THUNDER BOLT and UNIVERSE FLASH, those attacks are what caused the giant flash of light and explosion we saw."

At Duran's explanation,the crowd went wild.

"Amazing!"

"That boy really is smart!"

"Go get em' boy!"

Back in the residential area, the dust from the explosion had cleared, and the result of the explosion was seen.

A huge crater, one where over a 100 elephants could fit could be seen. The buildings that were in the direction of the attack were completely vaporised, and even some of the other areas in the venue was damaged.

"Ugh! F**k!"

Diara was laying in the crater, unable to move. She cursed herself for being unable to evade the attack. She tried looking around, but, moving her neck caused her to feel a great pain.

SLIDE!STEP!STEP!

Jack slid down into the crater and carefully walked towards Diara. When he came to stand infront of her, he let out a cold smile.

This freak.

At the sight of his sneer sent shivers down her spine. Seeing that Jack was just standing there, she asked him�"

"You're not going to break my badge?"

�"but Jack didn't answer her. He continued to look down at her. To his surprise, the badge did not break. How? He soon found out why.

"If you're wondering why the badge isn't broken, it's because I used the last bit of OSCELL I had to protect it. Good huh? Ugh!"

Because she spoke for such a long time, she felt an intense pain in her chest. Jack was really surprised. He never expected for her to shield the badge. Deciding that it was about time he claimed his first win, he stretched out his hand and broke the badge.

「After a breathtaking battle, Jack has finally claimed the badge of Diara Uria from class 2-A! What a match!」

Hearing the commentator's words, Melina smiled.

"Good job my son."

She praised Jack from where she was sitting.

Diara was being teleported out of the residential area. As she was being teleported,she looked at Jack and thought�"

I hope you don't run into him. The hidden monster in the first years.

�"who was the person she didn't want Jack to run into? Only she knew.

After the battle, Jack immediately tried to look for a place to hide and rest. He had managed to find a building that wasn't completely destroyed. He laid down on his back, breathing heavily.

"That.. was.. exhausting."

He could barely speak. He stared at the ceiling and thought that he had made a lot of progress in his training.

This mirror really helped me.

He also thanked DED for telling him to believe in the mirror more. Jack was someone who was all about destructive force, but, after seeing how much the mirror had helped him, he decided�"

I will use stragetic abilities more.

�"that he would study stragetic fighting.

THE WIDE PLAINS

BOOM! BOOM!BOOM!CRACK! BURST!

A heated battle was currently taking place in another area of the venue�"The Wide Plains. Many fierce warriors were currently trying to beat their opponents. One of them, was Genova Zeyus.

"Haa!"

WHOOSH!

"Gugh!"

"Hugh!"

With the swing of his fist, he created a shockwave that sent two people flying. They were the twin brothers from class 1-B,Li and Pi Hiyoka.

The twins landed back on their feet after flying ten meters or so back. Li had dark blue low cut hair. He also had emerald green eyes and a slim yet muscular build. His brother, Pi, had light blue low cut hair and sapphire coloured eyes. He however, had a more muscular build than his brother, but not so much that they could be distinguished by it.

Their distinguishing feature was their eyes.

"He has a lot of strength."

Li gave his thoughts on Genova's strength. Pi also had the same opinion.

"I agree."

Pi's voice was a bit deeper than Li's.

The battle they were having had started just before Jack's battle had ended.

It's time to attack.

Looking at his brother,Li dashed forward towards Genova with a clenched fist,a golden glow about it. Genova jumped backwards, putting some distance between them. Suddenly�"

What?

�"he felt someone was behind him so he turned around and saw�"Pi. He thought�"

How? I never took my eyes of him. Yet, he was able to come to my back without me noticing? Impossible.

�"that at some point while jumping back, he had lost sight of Pi. But, that wasn't the case. Luro who was watching the fight realized this immediately.

"Cloning."

"Huh?"

Melina, who was sitting besides him didn't hear what he said. Realizing this, he said it clearer.

"Cloning."

"You mean that boy can create more of himself?"

She said so enthusiastically. Though she didn't look like it, Melina was a kind of a nerd. She loved talking about the different techniques that people had. She would sometimes think about why she had been born with the power she had, especially when there was so many cooler powers out there.

To Melina's question, Luro nodded in response.

"Yes. It seems that whilst Gen was jumping back, he created a clone at the back of himself and had it circle around to his back."

Amazing.

She thought. It was truly amazing. She immediately returned her attention to the battle, hoping that she didn't miss much while she was listening to Luro.

And she didn't�"

"Damn it!"

�"the clone which had circled around to Genova's back had blocked his path of escape, resulting in him getting a punch from Li. Though it wasn't strong, it still did some damage to him.

In order to free himself, he used the momentum from the punch, turned around and jumped into the air by springing of the clone's shoulder.

Now that I'm in the air, they won't be able to att�"

He was suddenly interrupted by a pain in his back.

�"What.. the.. hell…?

He placed his hand on his back and realized that he had a stab wound.

How?

The moment he had jumped up, another clone was already above him. He couldn't see it because he was looking at the brothers on the ground, and he didn't sense it because he was focused on the brothers below. The clone that was above him had a long golden lance in his hand and had stabbed him in his back. Genova at this realization thought�"

Why am I only feeling it now?

�"that the fact that he was only feeling it now was extremely strange. The reason for it was very common. It was similar to the situation where one would be walking barefoot and would get pricked by a thorn. If their attention lay else where, they wouldn't know that they were pricked until they sat down or stopped what they were doing. This was what had happened to him.

I fell for it.

He thought that this was the twins plan all along. And he had thought right. Looking down, he could see that they both had huge smiles on their face. He felt that he had understimated them.

He landed back on the ground. He looked directly at them to ensure that they did not move. He also kept his guard up just in case a clone was nearby.

Pi felt that Genova was finally going to take them seriously, so he said�"

"Thank God you're finally going to take us seriously."

�"and at his words, Genova smirked then responded.

"Yeah."

The smirk he had on his face immediately dissapered and then�"

"GAH!"

"LI!!"

�"he instantly appeared before Li and punched him in his face, sending him flying tens of meters back. Without wasting anytime, he immediately struck at Pi.

"Oh n�""

"�"GAH!"

before the words could fully come out of his mouth, Genova punched him across his face and sent him flying towards his brother.

Li, after rolling on the ground after being punched finally caught himself. The moment he got up�"

CRASH!

"Ugh!"

�"Pi came crashing into him. They both immediately got up and dusted themselves. They looked at Genova, nothing but respect in their eyes.

"So this is him when he is serious."

"I guess so. He truly is strong."

All they wanted was a battle where they could show their full potential and Genova finally gave them that chance. Since they had the chance, they were not going to let it go to waste.

"Plan B?"

"Yeah, plan B."

Immediately after those words, Pi's OSCELL rose.

What was he going to do?

Genova didn't want to know. He kicked off the ground trying to get to him before he could finish, but, it was too late.

"Huh?"

He stopped.

Why?

Because before his eyes stood 51 Pi's. He couldn't believe it. Instantly, he realized something else.

What's that golden armor?

All the other Pi's had a golden armor which resembled that of a warrior. He could feel a strong pressure coming from them.

This is insane.

It sent shivers down his spine. The pressure he felt was that of a beast stalking it's prey. The twins realized that he was nervous�"

"Attack!"

"Let's do this!"

�"and gave the signal to attack.

Immediately after the signal to attack was given, all the clones rushed towards Genova. In response to their attack, Genova took his fighting stance.

I can do this.

Though he was nervous, his fighting spirit would not change. He had no reason to be afraid. And so, he launched his fist forward�"

"Hmph!"

WHOOSH!

�"he aimed for one of the clones head, but, it  quickly shifted it's head to the right and dodged it. Without wasting anytime, the clone clenched it's fist and attempted to punch him in his chest�"

It won't work.

�"but Genova dodged by leaning far back, causing the punch to go directly over him. He thought that he had made a good decision, but soon realized that he shouldn't have done that.

Why shouldn't he have done that?

Leaning back was a smart move to dodge the punch, so why was it that he felt it was a wrong decision?

Because he wasn't facing one person anymore, he was facing 51 of them. Because he had leaned back, he gave the clones the chance to bury him. And they did not miss that chance.

"Let's bury him!"

"Yeeaahh!"

CRASH!

All of the clones jumped on him�"

"Haaaah!"

WHOOSH!

�"but were instantly blown up in the air by a upthrust of wind created by Genova.

"A.. amazing!"

"Ye.. yeah!"

The twins were amazed. They felt extremely happy that they could fight Genova.

"I'll take out the rest. MARTIAL TECHNIQUE-FORCE PUNCH! HAAAAH!"

Rapidly pushing his arm front and back,a strong gust of wind flew in the direction of the remaining clones.

Trying to dodge,they all jumped up in the air but�"

"Aaaah!"

�"Genova,who had jumped above them,fired another gust of wind towards them,defeating the clones. He landed back on the ground.

"That was easy enough. Now then, come at me yourselves."

Pointing towards the twins, he said those words. His fighting spirit was high.  The twins'fighting spirit were also high. Putting power in their legs, they rushed towards Genova.

In response, Genova also jumped towards them. The distance between them was 15 meters, but they were able to close in one each other in an instant. As they approached each other, they readied their attacks.

BOOOOOOOM!!CRACK!

The sound of their fists colliding caused an explosion, causing the ground beneath them to crack and cave in.

"Haaaaah!"

"Aaahhh!"

"Huuuuugh!"

They screamed, continuing to punch each other. As the continuous punching continued, the difference between their strength became clear. Despite having the advantage in numbers, the twins couldn't keep up with Genova and retreated 5 meters back.

"Damn...it!"

Li cursed. Sweat ran down his face. Pi was also angry.

"How...strong...is he?"

They were both breathing heavy. They couldn't believe that even though they had the advantage in numbers, they were the ones to retreat. They looked at Genova and opened their eyes in surprise.

Why?

It was because of what they saw. Genova was completely fine. In fact, not a scratch could be seen on him. Even Melina, who was sitting next to Luro, was confused. Wanting to know how this could be, she asked Luro.

"How is it that after those attacks, he is completely fine?"

To her question, Luro chuckled.

"Momentum Attack."

"Momentum Attack?"

"When one of them punched him, the force generated from that attack was used to attack the other."

"...."

Melina didn't understand what Luro had said. A blank expression was on her face. Luro smiled at her before explaining again.

"When one of the twins punched him, his body would have been pushed back a little. By using a martial technique, he would direct that force to his other arm that did not receive the attack, and hit the other brother."

"I see."

In a sense, it was similar to when he had used the force from the punch to leap of the shoulder of the clone earlier in the fight. Though the technique he used looked simple, it was a technique which required a high level of concentration and muscle movement to attain and master.

Still, to be able to use such a skill at such a young age is incredible.

Luro thought. He himself knew that at Genova's age, he wasn't capable of learning such a complex technique.

In the future, how strong will you be?

He couldn't help but think that Genova would be one of the top martial artist in the world.

"I expected more from you guys joint attack. I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed."

Genova let out such cold words, destroying what little pride the brothers had left. At those words,Pi grinded his teeth and clenched his fist.

His brother, Li was also angry.

I guess our only choice is to use plan C.

Pi thought.

What was plan C?

Was it a plan to retreat and leave the fight?

Or create a situation where other people would be dragged into the fight?

It was neither.

As if Li could hear what his brother was thinking, they began to prepare for plan C.

It's time that I finish this.

Deciding that it was time to end the match, Genova crouched low until maximum power was put into his legs, and then kicked of the ground, cracking it.

Quickly closing the distance between them, he readied his attack. Twisting his body in the air, he created an illusion that made it look like he had multiple arms that had a white glow around them. It was the same technique he had used against Luro when they were training. It was�"

"�""MARTIAL TECHNIQUE-DANCE OF THE LUNAR ECLIPSE: STAGE 1"

"W.. wow!"

"Such pressure!"

"Is he really a first year?!?"

The pressure the attack gave off sent shivers down the spines of the spectators. Even the commentator felt it.

「Such.. such pressure! Genova, after twisting his body in a weird way, is giving off such a strong pressure! Will this end the match?!」

Immediately after those words�"

BOOOOOOM!CRACK!

�"Genova punched Pi using his right fist and kicked Li using his left leg. However�"

"What.. the..hell?"

�"he was blocked. His instincts told him that it was dangerous and it would be best to retreat now. Acting upon his instincts, he jumped back, emerging from the dust which was created by his attack.
