THE GYM

"K class. My name is Watawari Keyan and I will be your gym teacher."

Why are there so many people here?

Kevin looked around. He realized that there were 23 students in the gym. Class 1-A had 14 children and class 1-C had 35. That is when he realized what class they were with-

"Are with class 1-B?"

"Yes."

"Oh ok."

Class 1-B had 9 children. 4 boys and 5 girls. Watawari then continued-

"In gym class, you will be training your physical body. Some of you believe that all you need is strong OSCELL and you can win any fight, well, that is wrong. If your physical body is weak, then your own OSCELL can harm you."

Some of the students began to sweat. Some of them never did any physical training, so after they heard that, they were extremely nervous, one of them was a boy from class 1-B-

"What?? My own OSCELL can kill me?? Sensei, please begin class, please strengthen my muscles, PLEEAASE!!"

that boy was Zephyr Lerock. He was an average height boy with spiky black and blue hair. He had dark blue eyes and a black lightning tattoo under his right eye. Watawari chuckled and proceeded with the class.

"Well then, since you're so eager, we will begin. Your first assignment is to run around this court 5 times without stopping. Ready,set-"

"What?? Sir we're not rea-"

"GOOOOOO!!"

before Zephyr could finish talking, Watawari gave the signal to start running. All the students took off. Some of them ran as fast as they could, while others took their time and jogged. Zephry

was one of those who jogged. Watawari laughed inside. He thought that some of them were running so fast, when they had to go around the court 5 times. The court was bigger than the average, so the best thing to do would be to jog but some of them wanted to finish quickly so they ran as fast as they could. 2 minutes passed since he said go, and as he anticipated, some of them began stopping.

"Hmm,I knew it. They burned theirselves out way to quickly and now they are stopping. I guess they are the first ones who shall RESTART."

The students who stopped once, would have to restart all over again. Watawari didn't tell them that because he wanted to see who would try to rush it. This exercise was given a special name because of this-

" Tortoise or Hare."

The tortoise meant slow where as the Hare meant fast. Those who ran fast were called Hare and those who ran slow were called tortoise. He looked at them with a big smile on his face. He looked at all the students, that is when some piqued his interest.

Oh. Those 5 look like they have great stamina and physical strength. I must keep a close eye on them.

The 5 he saw were 4 boys and one girl. 4 of them were from class A. They were Raeyon,Genova,Kevin,Mira and a boy from class B who had white long white hair and red eyes.

The boys name was Quin Weyan.

So those 5 will be at the top of the class huh. But I can't believe there was someone so unfit in this school.

The person he talked about was Rolando Juvi. Since he was a chubby kid, he couldn't run as well as the other kids, so he lagged behind.

Sooner or later he will stop.

"Huff,huff,huff, why do I find myself running so much lately?"

Jenna asked herself a very strange yet appropriate question. Since school began, she had been running a lot, whether it was from Jack or running to class so they won't be late. But, because of this, she had more stamina than she had before. Suddenly she heard someone taking beside her.

"Look at him, running. I hate that dude so much."

She looked to her side and saw that it was Laura. She wanted to say that she was talking about Genova but didn't want to make any assumptions, so she asked.

"Hey Laura."

"Hi Jenna." "If you don't mind me asking, who are you talking about?" Without the tiniest bit of hesitation, Laura answered. "Genova the jerk." Why am I not surprised. Ever since Genova interrupted her introduction in Professor Lingui's class, she hated him. She despised him to the point that she wished he was never born. "ACHOOO!" For some odd reason, Genova sneezed even though he didn't have a cold or any allergies. Raeyon, seeing that Genova sneezed, asked him a question. "Hey Genova, do you have the flu?" "No. I think someone was just talking bad about me." "Hmm?" Raeyon looked at him with a blank expression, since he didn't know much about stuff like that. Raeyon then looked forward and continued running. 15 minutes later, everyone was done. Those who failed to finish, would have to try again after school ended. Raeyon sat on a bench drinking some water as he had sweat a lot. Jack, who was standing near the teacher, remembered what he told Raeyon in the locker room. I guess now is the best time. He walked towards him. Jenna, who was talking with Laura and Mira about the exercise, realized that Jack was heading towards Raeyon, so she quickly followed behind him. Raeyon, who had his head down in his lap, heard someone walking towards him. He looked up and saw Jack directly standing infront him. "What is it Jack?" "You remember what I told you back in the locker room?" Hmm?... Oh yeah, about I better be ready. "Yeah." "Well then, I hope you are. SIR!" Jack shouted. Watawari, after he heard Jack shout his name, walked towards him. All the other students looked at Jack and Raeyon. They had no idea what was about to happen. "What?" "We can challenge each other right?" "Where is this coming from? Do you wish to challenge someone here?" "Yes." "Who?" Jack pointed at Raeyon. "Him." Raeyon gulped. He knew that Jack was going to do something but never expected it to be a challenge. All the students in the gym stared at him. They were waiting to see if he would accept the duel. Please don't accept. Jenna wished in her heart. Though she didn't have any special feelings for him, she didn't want him to get hurt. The other students in class A however, all wanted the same thing. To find out their abilities and see how strong they were. They already knew Jack's ability, but they did not know Raeyon's own. He thought for awhile- Should I accept it? If I do, then I would have to fight. But if I don't, I could drag Jenna further into this. I only have one option. The reason why he thought that if he denied, Jenna would be brought further into this was because Jack might try to use her as a way to get him to fight. But, if they fought and he beat Jack or he loses, then the loser would have to back down. He knew this, so without thinking again, he chose. "I accept" Yes. Jack was happy. If he were to beat Raeyon infront of everyone, then they would all know who was worthy of standing beside Jenna. The other students from both class A and B were also happy. If they could gauge their strengths, then they would know how strong they were and whether or not they should fight them. "K. Since Raeyon accepted, this duel can officially start. You two, get on the court." They walked towards the court. The court was separated into 4 sections. North, South, East and West. Raeyon was in the North and Jack was in the South. Everyone looked at them, waiting for the fight to start. They all knew that they wanted to see them fight to only see their strengths but no one would say it. Genova, however was different. "Good, it's great that they're going to fight, I can finally see how strong Reayon is." "Genova!" Jenna looked at him angrily. Even if she knew that wanting them to fight so they could see how strong they were was smart, she never expected for him to say it out loud. "What? But it's true. That guy is strong." "How are you so sure?" "Oh, Aki Weyan, you're here." "Yeah." "Well, I'm not 100% sure, but while I was running besides him, I saw something interesting." "What?" Jenna wanted to know as well. Ever since she met him, she felt that he was strange, so if Genova knew something, then she would like to know as well. "He wasn't the least bit tired." Everyone fell down flat. They couldn't believe that was what he noticed. Kazuki, trying not to laugh, asked him- "Really? What, you're the only one who has to appear fine? Not because he wasn't tired means he's strong." "You'll see." Genova just turned to face Raeyon, and didn't bother trying to back up his point. Then, they finally heard the signal. "READY! FIIIGHT!!" Watawari finally gave the signal for the fight to start. Jack, after he heard this, immediately began his assault. "ICE CREATION TECHNIQUE- SPEAR OF YETI" Ten huge spears, made out of ice formed above him. He fired them- WHOOSH! WHOOSH!WHOOSH! They flew through the air, speeding towards Raeyon. Those things have quite the force behind them. If I don't intercept them, I'll take some damage. Raeyon, instead of defending, launched an attack instead. He gathered his flames around him. Jack, who thought he was going to defend, did not think the he was going to counter by attacking. You're not defending huh?, you believe that your OSCELL is as strong as mine huh? Well, I'll show you whose is- "STRONGERRR!!!" Jack roared. His voice could be heard throughout the academy. He poured more OSCELL into his attack. Raeyon, seeing that Jack was serious, launched his attack- "FIR TECHNIQUE- WAVE OF SCORCHING FLAMES!" A huge wave of fire rushed towards Jack- It's.....hot His ice attack began to melt. Jack, realizing that the energy that attack was giving off was to much, decided to go on the defensive. "ICE CREATION-IGLOO SHIELD" An igloo formed around him. Seconds later, the wave of fire crashed into the igloo. Jack, from the very depth of his soul, poured more energy into his shield- "I... won't....give UPPPP!!" The igloo around him became stronger, doubling in size. He was set on holding of Raeyon's attack, and so he did. The wave of fire finally passed. Jack released the shield, and placed his hands on his knees. "Huff,huff,huff, it would seem like I underestimated you, but I guess now is my chance to catch my brea-." Suddenly he heard a scream- "FIRE TECHNIQUE-DRAGONS WRATH!" What he saw had him terrified. It was a dragon, the energy it gave off was that of one that was living. Genova and the others who spectated, looked on as the dragon roared wildly. [Why is he sweating so much?] [I don't know] Yes. Jack sweated like a man who had just finished running a mile. It was like he was afraid, afraid of the dragon that hovered before him. Why can't I move? Why is it that I feel fear? I am the strongest first year, so I should not feel fear, yet, this newbie who came out of nowhere, has me sweating like a dog. Why?? Jack couldn't begin to understand. Why is it that Raeyon, someone who appeared out of thin air, made him feel fear. Suddenly, he felt it. The coming of a demon. "GOOOOOO!!!" "ROOOOOAAAARRRR!!" The fiery dragon roared. It rushed towards Jack with an opened mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. "This is bad." "Hm?" Genova was the first person to realize how bad Jack's situation was. He could sense that the strength behind that dragon was unreal. Jenna, who stood beside him, didn't know for sure how bad it was, but she could feel it. She could feel that if that attack hit Jack, he would receive serious damage. Though she didn't like Jack, the image which she had pictured in her head, was not something she wanted to see.In an attempt to get Jack to defend, she screamed- "Jack,DEFEND!" but it was no use, Jack just stood there unable to move. The other students thought that Jack was a scaredy cat, but none of them knew what he was feeling,the overwhelming fear he felt as the dragon approached him. What am I going to do? I can barely move my arm. It's like there are chains binding me down. The dragon finally met him. Unable to defend, Jack took the full brunt of the attack. "GAAH!" The dragon crashed into Jack. It sent him flying into the wall. He groaned in pain. Jenna looked on as Jack spat out blood. She looked at Watawari, wondering if he was going to stop the fight, yet- "Hehehe." He laughed. Instead of trying to stop the fight, he laughed. Unable to accept this, she screamed at Raeyon. "Raeyon, stop fighting, if you continue this fight, Jack will get seriously hurt!" "No, don't stop fighting." "Uh?" Watawari didn't want them to stop fighting and he had a very good reason for that- "Sir? why?" "This is what he asked for." "What?" "Jack wanted to fight, and right now he's getting one, so there is no reason to stop it." Jenna looked at him in disbelief. It was true that Jack was the one who initiated the challenge, but that doesn't mean that he had to suffer so much. She looked at Genova and the others to see if they were going to back her up, but they didn't. All they could do was watch with their mouths wide open. Not one of them could believe that Raeyon possessed such strength. They all thought it was over for Jack, yet- "Ugh! I'm not done!" He walked back unto the court, unable to accept defeat. Kazuki, who was also watching, couldn't believe what he saw- "After receiving such an attack without defending, he is actually able to walk, but also have zero wounds on his body??" Yes. Jack walked out with zero wounds on his body, not even a scratch. No one understood how that was possible, until Watawari pointed it out- "At the very last second, he used his OSCELL to protect himself." They were all shocked. Using your OSCELL to protect yourself could only be done by the those who had vast amounts of OSCELL. The fact that Jack was able to do this, made Kevin sure of something, that he was extremely strong. "Well, I guess that's that." "Hehe,I knew you would've come back." "This quickly?" "Yep. Well then, shall we continue?" "Yeah. I'm finally going to use my full power. Don't cry now." "Trust me, I won't." OSCELL began surrounding the two of them, the pressure it gave off was so strong that it became visible. The entire gym shook, as if an earthquake had just occurred. The student's from both class A and B, couldn't believe what they were feeling, even Watawari was shocked- What..is this... pressure? Watawari couldn't believe it. The fact that he could feel such pressure from first years. They looked at each other, a fiery blaze in Raeyon's eyes and an icy cold one in Jack's eyes. Tisha, who sat in the same row as Raeyon, wondered why they just stood there watching each other. "Why are they just watching each other?" She looked at Sayuri. She and Sayuri were good friends, so she was the only person she could ask. But even Sayuri herself didn't know. That is until Mira told them. "They're trying to ascertain wether the other is serious or not." "Why?" "So they can know if they should fight seriously." After Tisha thought about it, it finally made sense. If they ascertained that the other is serious, the fight would be more thrilling. She smiled, thinking that this is how people really fight. Tisha was someone who was sheltered by her parents, so she never got into any fights, so now that she could see a real fight, it got her excited. Raeyon dashed forward. His fist collided with Jack's, causing dust to rise up completely covering the court. The students couldn't see anything, all they could hear was the clashing of attacks. Within the cloud of dust, Raeyon and Jack exchanged attack after attack. When the dust cleared, the students finally saw the result of those clashes. The ground beneath them was filled with cracks, and they both had bruises all over there bodies.  However,Jack seemed to have less bruises than Raeyon. "It seems like this won't be easy, huh Jack?" "Hmph, what are you talking about. It's apparent to anyone that I'm winning." "Well, the fight is just starting." This time, Jack rushed in. Surrounding his fist with ice like the first time they fought, he charged at Raeyon. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Raeyon guarded, putting up his arms. The sound of ice shattering could be heard throughout the gym. The students who were there looked on, trying not to blink so they wouldn't miss a thing. I guess it's my turn- Flames began forming around Raeyon's arm, melting the ice. Jack backed up, intending to create some space between them, but alas, it was useless. "HAAAH!" Raeyon suddenly dissapered and reappeared before him. He hit Jack 4 times in his abdomen, causing Jack to fly back. Raeyon charged forth again, not giving Jack a chance to breathe. In an attempt to give himself a chance to think, he tried to halt Raeyons movement- "ICE CREATION- CHANDELIER" A giant chandelier appeared above Raeyon, and crashed into the ground. Jack thought that it had successfully hit him, but no, Raeyon had dodged moments before the attack hit. "DAMN ITTTTT!" Frustrated, Jack created huge spikes made out of ice. The ice spikes filled the court, causing Raeyon to finally appear. That was Jack's plan. He jumped up, a giant shadow was cast above Raeyon- "ICE CREATION-HAMMER!" BOOM! CRUSH! "GAAAAAAAHH!" Due to the ice spikes all around him, and the hammer above him, Raeyon could not evade. The hammer crashed into him, driving him into some of the spikes below. Jack landed back on the ground, a smirk on his face. "I can finally re-" CRASH!CRACK! "Time to rest? Ah, that's funny." Raeyon appeared out of the rubble, bleeding from his forehead. Jack was angry. He couldn't believe that Raeyon got up so quickly, 20 seconds didn't even pass yet. Suddenly, flames began forming around Raeyon,producing heat that made the dragon from before look cold in comparison. "FIRE TECHNIQUE-BALLISTIC MISSILES" Hundreds of missiles charged towards Jack. He dodged with no effort at all. Thinking that was all it was, he launched his attack- "ICE CREATION-ICE CANNON" "Take this!" FRSHHHHHH! The ice cannon shot a cold beam, it was so cold that the moisture in the air completely froze, becoming part of the attack. Raeyon foresaw that he would immediately try to attack, so he set up his defense. "FIRE TECHNIQUE-WALL OF FIRE!" A wall of flame appeared before Jack, blocking his attack. The beam of ice crashed into the wall. They struggled for a few minutes, until the ice beam began to fade. Everyone thought that this was it, after the gap between the two of them was clear, Jack would stop, but no, he continued- "ICE CREATION-1000 ICE SHARDS" WHOOSH! The ice shards flew towards the wall of fire. Sherry, who practiced stragetic fighting, didn't understand why Jack was still firing attacks, wasting his energy, when they wouldn't work. Rahif who stood beside her, knew why. It was too weaken the wall. The barrage of attacks were not meant to break through the shield in one push, it was meant to weaken so that a stronger attack would have less trouble of breaking through, and  Rahif was right. The barrage of attacks stopped, but Jack didn't. He launched another attack immediately after- "ICE CREATION-EXPLODING GLACIER" "HYAH!" An ice glacier was thrown towards the wall of fire. Moments before it hit, it exploded. Cold air filled the gym. The weakened wall immediately vanished, leaving Raeyon completely exposed. Unable to put up another barrier, the shockwave from the exploding glacier directly hits Raeyon, causing him to fly into the northern wall. "UGHH!" He groaned in pain. After the cold air and the dust from the explosion cleared, a huge crater could be seen in the middle of the court. Jack heaved a sigh of relief and took some time to rest. "This is insane." "Yeah, I definitely don't want to fight those two." He could hear students from class B talking. He smiled. He thought that if he could make them fear him now, he definitely wouldn't have to fight them later on. Suddenly he heard someone shout- "Look!" It was Raeyon. While he was stuck in the wall, he thought about the fact that he could experience such a thrilling fight. Because of this, the blood in his body boiled, causing an explosion within him.
