Prayer

Kneeling down beside my bed

Hands folded

Head bowed

Eyes closed and breathing steady

 

Whispers of blessings

upon those hurting

or in need

Quiet thoughts about the

wounded or protection

for those ready to begin battle

 

Thankfulness for another day of life

and a beautiful sunshiny day

Sorrow for those no longer with us

and the families dealing with pain.

 

Questions unanswered

Requests inquired

 

This is faith in the unseen…

I really enjoy this poem. I particularly like how you say "Whispers of blessings
upon those hurting or in need". Sometimes I think people get too wrapped up in their own hardships and problems to pray about anything other than themselves. You show care and generosity through the way you pray (which is pretty awesome!). That's how I interpret it, thanks for sharing! :D

Prayers are funny things I've found...(not literally of course) but the fact that we think that most seem unheard by above or unanswered. In this poem I like your expressive interpretation of prayers said by man most days. Every emotion can be found within a prayer, as you have shown us with your writing. :)
