ButterflyA Poem by dartanyon jonezI can not in good conscience take FULL credit for this piece. I heard a song by a guy named Brandon Banks-also called Butterfly-and was inspired. Very inspired. So...thank you, Brandon. LolThe
origin of her flight path to him is irrelevant. She
landed right in the palm of his hands because she was heaven sent. That
much is evident. He
wasn’t expecting it, but she
challenged him not
to damage her
wings; and he accepted it. Rather,
she trusted that he understood that she was delicate. Hues of
honey-gold; grace and beauty is what she blessed him with. Queen-like:
a monarch’s majesty is what she left him with. Then she
flew away, but he can’t fathom what she left to get. He helped
her smell the roses; he led her in nectar’s direction. So she
spread her wings and let him witness the pleasures of heaven. That
was her gift to him. When
she reached new heights and climaxes, it uplifted them. Though
her final flight caused a rift in them. It
shifted them. But, if
she’s listening: just
take this song as him being a little reminiscent then- of that
lovely creature he was once with and one
with. Though
they’re done with, his
butterfly gives
him butterflies in his
stomach still. © 2022 dartanyon jonezAuthor's Note
