The Dragon: Part 3A Screenplay by DarrinReayPart 3 of the short screenplays i'm writing. Hope you enjoy! DARKNESS. STRANGER (V.O.) It is the oldest story in all of Remnant. A story when dragons would take over the world but there would be a man there to stop them... Not just any man but a man who knows the language of Dragons, a man who knows how to weaken them, control them. Destroy them. This man is... FADE IN: EXT. VILLAGE - MORNING Wilson is stood there in front of the fallen black dragon, surrounded by guards and one cloaked man. Wilson is listening to him. STRANGER It is you! Wilson is taken aback. He looks shocked. WILSON Me? Dragonborn? I can't be. STRANGER Tell me, how is it that you could hurt the dragon when arrows and swords weren't scratching it? WILSON I don't-- STRANGER It is because you have dragons blood flowing through your veins. Only a mere mortal who has such blood in their bodies could produce that deadly attack known as The Annul. (beat) It is also believed that the dragonborn can absorb the soul of the dragon in which he has slain. Place your hand on the dragons head. Wilson turns and faces the dragon, he places his hand on the head of the dragon and it sticks like glue. The skies go dark, lightening begins to happen and Wilson begins to shake on the spot. His hand is released. He falls to the floor. STRANGER (CONT'D) Just as i thought. Heed my words, absorbing dragon souls is good and it will make you more powerful. However, absorbing too many and it will have severe consequences. (beat) Now you must travel west, through the plains of Summernight and into the mountains. There you will come to Mount Death. Scale it and you will find what you are searching for. Stranger steps back and claps his hands over his head. There is a loud bang and smoke appears around him. As it blows away from the wind, Stranger is gone. Everybody is taken aback. WILSON I can't believe it.. GUARD 1 Believe it or not, sir. Our fate lies with you. (whistles to horse) Take my horse and travel to Mount Death. Your destiny is solid, it is there for you to take. Wilson hops onto the horse, placing his bow on his back. The horse then gallops off out of the village gates and into the forest. CUT TO: EXT. SUMMERNIGHT - LATER Wilson is galloping through the plains, his eyes are fixed on the mountains in the distance. Noises from behind him catch his attention. He looks around... eyes widening as he stares at the thing which is after him. A BLACK PANTHER. He draws his bow, shooting at it... he misses. He shoots again, misses. The panther jumps, claws in front of it- latching onto the horses back legs, causing it to fall over. Wilson falls into the snow, he places the bow on his back and sprints through the plains of Summernight. A small little hut can be seen, Wilson approaches it... kicking through the door but there is no floor. He falls down it. The Panther runs into it too and falls down the floor. INT. TUNNELS - CONTINUOUS Wilson hits the floor and then draws his bow. He shoots an arrow straight through the head of the black panther, killing it. He sits there for a moment catching his breath. MAN (O.S.) You have got to be careful when going through the plains of Summernight... Wilson turns around, face to face with a man wearing war paint, dressed in dark black clothing. MAN (CONT'D) You can come across your worst nightmare. To many people, Summernight is known as the valley of the death. To me, i call it hell. The man grabs Wilson and lifts him up, pinning him against the wall as more men come behind him. MAN (CONT'D) And I am the devil. They bound is hands behind his back, dragging him off into the tunnels. CUT TO: INT. TOP OF MOUNT DEATH - CONTINUOUS There is a large black building, standing tall. Large black doors are at the front of it and they begin to open up. Two men walk out of it, wearing nothing but pants. They are carrying staffs. These are the Guild masters. As they walk further out, they meet a man standing there. He has a long grey beard and he is old. This is the Grandmaster. GUILD MASTER 1 You called, master. What is it? GRANDMASTER It appears that the Dragonborn has surfaced. It also appears he is in danger. GUILD MASTER 1 Dragonborn? This must mean that-- GRANDMASTER Yes, dragons are returning to Remnant. GUILD MASTER 1 But if he is in danger, we must help him! For he is our only chance at peace and freedom! GRANDMASTER Yes, we must save him. CUT TO: Complete blackness. The sound of wings flapping. Then the sound of thudding. The blackness turns to dragon scales. We zoom out to reveal another dragon. This time BIGGER, SCARIER. This is REAPER. It roars and then its wings begin to flap, it flies away into the sky. CUT TO: INT. TUNNELS - CONTINUOUS Wilson is being dragged along the tunnels still. Ten men are behind him, carrying swords and shields. They enter a large room, equipped with the most advanced swords and shields and bows that there is. WILSON (weak) Where am... where am i? MAN You're down in the pits of hell, this is where you'll burn. This is where Reaper will get you. WILSON Reaper? MAN You don't think the dragons are returning themselves, do you? We are the necromancers. We will bring destruction to Remnant, we will watch it burn. (beat) Our master will be here shortly. He will decide the fate of the last remaining dragonborn. Mumbling can be heard coming from above them. The floor begins to shake, swords fall to the ground. Everybody looks around, confused. BANG! The roof caves in. A load of men, dressed in nothing but pants can be seen. GUILD MASTERS. They aim their staffs, firing magic out of the end, destroying all of the necromancers. They help Wilson stand to his feet. WILSON Who are you? GUILD MASTER 1 We are the Guild Masters. Under orders from our Grandmaster we have came here to rescue you, Dragonborn. Then somebody else lowers through the hole in the roof. GRANDMASTER (O.S.) Are you ready to take on your destiny? This is where it will begin. WILSON Where does my destiny take me? GRANDMASTER Only we can show you the road, we can not show you the destination for only you can walk the path of Dragonborn. So tell me, are you ready? WILSON Yes... FADE TO BLACK: WILSON (V.O.) I am ready. FADE OUT.
