Dear Father

Dear Father

A Poem by DarrinReay
"

I haven't lost my father but this is a poem i wrote for one my friends who unfortunately lost her father!

"
Dear father,
It’s been a week since you’ve been gone,
And my world is still filled,
Will this darkness that no-one,
Can take away,
Cause this still does not feel true,
But i just want to say,
I still miss you and i love you.

Dear father,
I had a dream about you last night.
And i can’t get rid of the pain,
Cause i don’t have the will to fight,
I see you everywhere,
And every time i close my eyes,
I see your laugh and smile,
And it always gives me a surprise.

Dear father,
When will see i you again?
Cause i just want you,
To come and take away this pain,
I miss your hugs and your love,
But i still know that you,
Are watching over me as an angel from above.

Dear father,
I see your star shining in the sky,
And it’s the only thing that has the power,
To stop making me cry,
It shines a light through my window,
It shines a light right on my face,
And i know we will meet again,
In an unfamiliar place.

Dear father,
I can’t wait to see you,
And i have a smile on my face,
Although it doesn’t feel true,
I can’t wait,
No i just can’t wait no more,
For when you welcome me,
In your arms at heavens door.

This is beautifully done. A lot of emotion is expressed and I thought you portrayed the feelings of losing a loved one really well. Definitely tugged at my heartstrings. Great job!

This is so sweet and beautifully written and the last two lines especially captivated me , "For when you welcome me, in your arms at heaven's door". Great great job. ^.^
