We Are The CavalryA Poem by DarrinReayI've always had loads of respect for the people who fight for our country!
My boss comes over just to say,
You are training splendidly, And you are going to war today, So shoot your gun perfectly. In the helicopter i can hear, The screams of dying children, Then my boss whispers in our ear, 'Go and fight for our country, men' On the field i run for cover, As bullets fly right past my head, And our team, we protect each other, And pay our respect to the dead. It gets dark and it gets cold, But still we fight for our country, And i remember something i was told, We are the cavalry. Then we return home at last, To our families who we longed to see, Time went far to fast, But still we are the cavalry. © 2012 DarrinReayReviews
