Keep your political aggravation to yourself...

To Whom It May Concern,

 

Please keep any aggravation that you have towards another's political view to yourself. They don't want to hear it and they don't want to know why you think their view is wrong. Oh and please quit trying to sell your candidate's views. 

            Why is it that we are so quick to raise high and holy hell when someone doesn't like the same political candidate us. It's absolutely ridiculous how we respond to differences in political views anymore. If we don't like who a peer is voting for we try to sell to them why their view is wrong and why ours is right. Who gives a s**t really? Vote for who you want to vote for and be content that you are privileged enough to be able to do so. 

            Many countries aren't even awarded such a luxury. We have it so good that we don't even realize it. The fact that we are even able to have multiple candidates is a milestone in itself. 

            At least if we were ruled by a dictator people would keep their views to them self. A dictator wouldn't put up with all of this bickering and arguing. Not to say that a dictatorship is a good thing by any means. 

            A 'dictator' or head of state is an individual who exercises arbitrary authority over the lives of his citizens and who cannot be removed from power through legal means.

            Basically they're just a dick.

            Can you imagine being ruled by a dictator instead of being able to vote for your leader? What would P-diddy do and all the other wonderful celebrities who know so much about politics do. Do you think they would still be rocking the vote? My guess is most likely not. 

            I'm not saying that one shouldn't stand up for what they believe in. I'm merely stating that individuals need to be open to discussion. Just because you tend to vote republican doesn't mean have to share all of their ideals. And just because you vote democrat doesn't mean you have protest everything that republicans do. 

            So you are a republican, then you must be money hungry, conservative minded, and an only care about yourself business fool. Wait, never mind, you’re a democrat you say? Then you must be a whiney, tree-hugging liberal who only cares about taxing the rich. Wait a second, you’re an independent? Shame on you! Why can't you make up your mind you indecisive nitwit?

            People, lets quit looking at the political structure in a linear way. That's the way a dictatorship is set up, from the top to bottom, one leader and a long line of followers with no allowance for a difference of opinion. The entire spectrum of politics in our country does not fall on a line.

            We are not a dictatorship; we are a democracy and should be happy that our country allows our citizens to choose their leader. Not only that, how about we try to respect everyone else’s right to have an opinion. Such a cliché thing to say I know but it seems like our entire political structure is based on cliché’s these days.

I overheard too people trying so hard and becoming infuriated that the other didn't share the same ideal as them.

the key is to be open minded, yet still stand for what your convictions. People who shut others out rarely get the job done it seems.
