The queen of iceA Poem by hoganWe have all met one of theseTHE
QUEEN OF ICE
There
is a queen of ice, one born everyday You
can identify her, she always needs her own way Easily
recognisable, the eyes full of seduction Standing
out from the mediocre, promoting reproduction
Twenty
years after she was born In
her prime, a siren needing no horn One
by one, the handsome men come and go She
offers all, but each conquest says no
Thirty
years have passed by since her birth She
has widened her search on Earth Seeking,
both the younger and the older Her
shallow being has become bolder
Forty
years since she first arrived on this globe For
the first time, her inner feelings, she must probe Looking
in, there is only an empty space But
no matter, all the beauty is in her face
Fifty
years now have passed, but still no reduction In
her skills and cunning, in the art of seduction Young
and old are all taken, in for the ride But,
very soon they all find, there is nothing inside
Sixty
years now, have toiled by Still
she can’t see, she has lived a lie Gifted
with all the parts, and arts of attraction But
unable to see, or feel, or give a reaction
After
seventy years the queen of ice, still can’t see why © 2013 hoganAuthor's Note
