Once a gratis birdA Poem by KrithikaI am caged and bound to chains That holds me back from my own adventures I was once a gratis bird When my passion was coursing in my veins Now it’s just a dull phosphorescence I remember the times when I used to lay down in the open
fields The gravel stones kissing my feet when I used to walk around
the river bed And now I’m just caged and bound to my chains Never once I don’t remember the days I was gratis I was free, free like an avian bird But now I’m coerced to a certain duties That calls my name From bright aurora It turns into misty night Day by day, I slowly obliterate my chimera for my chore Climbing up a dozen milestones But I never once forgot my tender age I was free, free like an avian bird © 2017 KrithikaReviews
