Those Last Few Hours

Those Last Few Hours

A Poem by Shadow Spirit
"

What if YOU only had 24 hours to live?

"
What would you do if you were told you had twenty-four hours to live?
Would you show everyone everything that you could give?
I really don't know what I would do.
I would probably wonder where and with who.
Most people just stop trying.
Maybe they're afraid of dying.
How many people would you tell?
Do you wonder where you'll go,
Heaven or Hell?
Walking down those empty streets.
Waiting to see who next you'll meet.
Tears fall down your rosy cheeks,
As you stare at those distant mountain peaks.
You look at your watch,
It's 5 O'clock.
It won't be long till you reach the dock.
The clock strikes twelve,
And the birds clean themselves.

You wait for the world to take your power.
All in those precious last few hours.

Shadow Spirit
I didn't really try to rhyme. I just thought of this one rainy day.

If only others gazed upon these words and could really allow them to sink in. You wrote this well.

The thing about humans is, we stumble and crawl, and we get broken. We destroy ourselves. But at the same time, we are amazing. We sparkle like a diamond in the dark rich soil of earth. We never recog.. more..
