chariot of your horsesA Poem by D'arcy The Beara poem about a dear friend.
When I met you, you showed me an impossible goal.
You told me this is a life we choose, one we can control. Of course my smirk showed doubt, you can say I did hear you out. They called us equals, similar people with very different goals. Though you sought to be bold, you cried when you had to let go. Always trying to make sure I fall in line with the good, even though life kept steering to the bad. "Everything will be fine" you said, and now I keep repeating it over and over again. At my very low you kept trying to pick me up, saying words like "the Darcy I know wouldn't give up." No matter where we went before, I never seemed to get bored. When together, it was like we were steering a mighty chariot of horses. When I held on to fear, you simply ignored it. © 2015 D'arcy The Bear |
