HandsA Poem by TurtleClark
take my hand
we can run through the dark through the sad with the lost we can wander and never be found we can fly and reach the clouds finding dreams we thought we had lost take my hand i won't let you fall i'll help you stand again climb to the top look out on those who couldn't look beyond hold tight to the dream that even you couldn't see will you offer yours as i walk along the barren shore as i desert the home i knew running from the pain i felt searching for love wondering what the world will offer my feet slipping on the dew slicked grass sweating hands losing their grasp will you offer yours when the world begins to crumble and all else fails when its just you and me when the fear of the unknown is conquered by the fear of the known when nightmares enter dreams burning the clouds swallowing the seas can we survive against the burning against the inevitable end will we die hand in hand or fingers out stretched yearning for the safety of a familiar grasp take my hand and offer me yours together we can survive the inevitable end of the lives we have led
