Scars

Scars

A Poem by TurtleClark

You don't even see the scars anymore
But I still feel the need to hide them
No one cared then
They don't care know
I'm drowning
There's no one to save me
And the surface is getting further away
My hand reaches out
There is only air
The pale light is fading even more
Sometimes i want to do it again
They told me they'd lock me away
I imagine a strait jacket
Me screaming
A padded cell
.....I'm scared and lonely
I wish someone would save me from myself

This poem is immensely personal, I presume. I really do like it and empathize with it. The first two lines and the last really grab my attention. Truly understand the voice behind it, well done. Anything touching upon topics such as mental illness or self-harm has a strong chance of becoming cliche or romanticized in a way... but this is raw and authentic.. if that makes sense. Now I'm rambling.

A sad and scary poem. It is frightening when we cannot see any good in our life. I could feel the disappointment and loneliness in the poem. I like the direct closing of the poem. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

This is a very good poem about how lonely it feels when no one understands us. I know how this feels, it's lonely even when people are around you.

Like this, even if it is very sad for such a young person to write like this.
