The Stage

The Stage

A Poem by TurtleClark

Though your eyes are closed
I can still see your soul
and all the pain hid inside

and while you try to find
another alibi
I can see that life's getting rough

in that book
hides your secrets
the ones no one can touch

I can see beyond
your glass facade
we both know is destined to break

its safe to come out
from behind the curtain
take your place center stage

open your mouth
and show the world
what it means to be brave

shed your costume
and remove the makeup
its time for the show to begin

I really like the message in this. Very cohesive thoughts string from one stanza to the next. Great job here! :)

I really like the three line verse form ; you do it perfectly here, and the content is wise and well written...

Revealing ones self from behind the curtain that shelters and covers the truth.
Such a well written, intelligent poem.

The ending was my favorite part. Number one, I loved the stage theme, but also because I thought your ending lines were a really strong ending to this poem and the very last line was my favorite.
