black and white

black and white

A Poem by TurtleClark

Get off your high horse

And pay a bit more attention

It’s not my fault you suck at color retention

The world isn’t just black and white

You clearly can’t see the rainbow in front of you

I know there’s no point in confronting you

Stuck in your sexist and racist ways

When will you learn

Anything you can do I can do better

Especially where that girly sweater

I’m not a hater

My heads at the equator

I know I’m no better than anyone

And unlike you I have no need to be

now this is what I like to hear! A nice slap in the face, I've found, is generally a fabulous wake up call for people. Nicely, nicely put.

Now this is poetry that speaks. People are always quick to judge people by their brand without even taking time to really know who is the real person behind the mask. A lot of dreams are killed daily by the eyes that look at color like a curse, or being gay or lesbian as an ogre in the society...this is a very great poem. Thanks for sharing.

I understand this as an attack on racism and sexism, so I like that a lot. At work I have sometimes a lot to do with young refugees from Africa and Afghanistan, they are great guys, funny, friendly, despite having experienced awful things, so I really like your position, fine poem.
