total silence

total silence

A Poem by the darkest shadow

For a moment there was total silence,
The calm before the storm.
The wind begins to blow
Fingers reaching out to her.
She turns over in her sleep;
The dreams are coming.
RELENTLESS, they haunt her night after night.
Thunder begins to rumble,
Raindrops begin to fall,
Dripping onto her sweet face,
Seeping into her soft skin.
Lightning flashes and she wakes with a start.
Standing at the window,
She watches her life fall apart.
The storm rolls on.
Growing stronger, gaining power.
She's helpless in her stocking feet,
As the world around her
Is destroyed
