craving

A Poem by the darkest shadow

Burning deep into my soul
It’s a longing no one should ever know
It’s the one itch I feel that I can’t scratch
Like the anticipation just before the climax
Multiplied by about a hundred
I CRAVE the taste of my own blood
My hands start to shake as I begin to reach
My thoughts turn hypocritical, practice what you preach.

This poem just radiates with the need to do something. It gets the meaning across very well, and although it is short, it doesn't need to be added to. I like how some of the lines rhyme, but then some don't-- it just adds to the meaning of the poem.
