The Day Darkness Wept Gently. . .

The Day Darkness Wept Gently. . .

A Poem by robertsteese
"

The great romance. . .

"
Into the light they go. I can never can venture. I am the virus of which is night. I try to glimpse the dying moon which is my long lost love. We for but only a night do embrace. My neptunian goddess. We two do caress. In the blackness of life I do yearn for her love, though only for a fleeting moment are we ever joined as one flesh. She is my greatest blessing and I am her greatest curse. Once we were lost in the love we shared, but corruption was washed upon us two. We now are forced to never be united but once a thousand years. She is my heart and I am her soul. Dreams and nightmares are all that I inhabit. I am the void dweller of this forsaken world lost in the sins of forbidden flesh, for they are never satisfied. I am damned to wander this wasteland. Never to be with my one and only true love. My curse is to always gaze upon my love but to never ever be able to hold her and embrace her soft feminine body. She is my love and I am her curse.

A nice write.

great use of words and constant theme which seems hard to do with seemingly stream-like prose
