Midnight Dance

Insomnia Blank Verse Poem

 

Come with me!

We shall go into the woods.

To see the fairies dance.

I’ve heard they dance like fireflies in the dark.

We have nothing to fear.

The fairies will guide us

Then we shall be entertained by the fairies

They will perform the midnight dance.

With their spinning, twisting, and turning the fairies will fly.

The court of fairies will greet us with gifts of flowers and light.

What such a delight!

To see the fairies in the night!

The midnight dance must end.

It is one A.M. and time it is now time for sleep.

We need to make our way out of the woods.

Don’t worry!

The fairies will guide us out; like a lantern in the dark.

So let’s follow!

Thru the woods we go and back to the start.

Back and up the stairs and to bed we go.

Close your eyes!

Its time to dream, sleepyhead!
